How do you make something as somber as funeral planning into an occasion to celebrate? Easy - you put together a party! While that concept might be hard to ponder, the owner of deathwishes.net came to us with the task of creating a do-it-yourself resource for pre-mortem planning and, just as importantly, a personalized celebration of life. So how could we balance out those two seemingly divergent goals? With an educational and informational website specifically targeted to a niche audience in need of guidance on a difficult subject. We then patterned the overall look of the site to showcase strong imagery and a warm, inviting tone and feel. Vibrant colors and a stylized look inspired by Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) iconography were utilized to create the desired festive atmosphere and community feel honoring its users' lives.
